Every year on March 17, people around the world celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day—a cultural and religious holiday honoring Ireland’s patron saint. While not an official U.S. holiday, it’s one of the most widely celebrated days of the year, filled with parades, festivals, and, of course, plenty of green and good beer.
As BOB gets ready for this year’s festivities, here are a few Irish-inspired craft beer recommendations to help you raise a glass in true St. Paddy’s Day spirit.
Sprecher Stout | Sprecher Brewing Company
A smooth, creamy blend with flavors of bittersweet chocolate and dark coffee, Sprecher Stout is a tribute to Ireland that delivers depth and richness in every sip.
Boston Irish Stout | Harpoon Brewery
Full-bodied yet easy to drink, Harpoon’s Boston Irish Stout combines the roasted character of six malts with delicate Willamette hops for a perfectly balanced pint.
Irish Setter Red | Thirsty Dog Brewing Company
With freshly ground caramel and nutty, toasted malt notes, Thirsty Dog’s Irish Setter Red offers a medium-light body and little to no bitterness. Its blend of American caramel malt and Kent Goldings hops creates a beautifully rounded Irish-style ale.
Irish Ale | Boulevard Brewing Company
Boulevard’s Irish Ale pays tribute to the classic red ales of old Ireland. Crafted with six kinds of pale and roasted barley malts, this Midwestern take features moderate toasted malt flavor balanced by gentle hop bitterness.
Newport Storm Spring Irish Red Ale | Coastal Extreme Brewing Company
Deep ruby in color, Newport Storm’s Spring Irish Red Ale offers roasted malt tones, crisp hops, and authentic U.K. ingredients that make it a perfect choice for your St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Whether you prefer a rich stout or a smooth red ale, these craft beers are sure to make your St. Patrick’s Day celebration one to remember.
Cheers!
