Craft Beer Guilds

By: Paula Polei

One of the great joys of being part of the craft beer world is sharing that passion with others — and joining a state Craft Beer Guild is one of the best ways to do it. Through these organizations, you can explore local breweries, meet fellow enthusiasts, and help shape the future of craft beer in your state.

Benefits of Craft Beer Guilds

Guild membership dues vary by state and are typically set by each Guild’s board of directors. Brewery members are invited to quarterly meetings, can participate in setting goals and initiatives, and even help influence state-level legislation impacting the industry. Membership also provides access to valuable networking opportunities, trade shows, and Guild events.

Industry partners like BOB can join as associate or allied trade members. These members are suppliers and partners who help brewers bring their creations to life. As part of the Guild, they gain opportunities to present at events, network with brewers, and receive preferred booth placement at trade shows.

Brew Smart, Durham

BOB’s relationship with the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild has led to some great collaborations, including the upcoming Brew Smart, Durham event. This two-day seminar, hosted at Ponysaurus Brewing Company in Durham on February 22–23, focuses on packaging and brewery best practices.

Registration costs $75 per person for Guild members and $125 for non-members, including dinner and a beer on Monday, plus breakfast on Tuesday.
